1. FLOATING CANDLE WAX
You can use paraffin wax to make floating candles. Just brake it into pieces, it will be more convenient for melting.
2. FLOATING CANDLE MOLDS
This is the most important piece of equipment for making floating candles. There are dozens of styles and designs of floaters. You can buy molds for floating candles, and flowers, stars, boats, butterflies, turtles and bears are just the beginning. If you are willing to experiment, you can make your own molds. For this kind of candles, it is recommendable to use wick tabs. A zinc core wick is just fine. Just pay attention that it is in accordance to the size of the mold, since they can vary in shapes and sizes significantly.
4. FLOATING CANDLE DECORATIONS
New fun begins with placing your floating candles into bowls or glass cylinders. You can make lovely centerpieces for weddings, receptions, bridal showers, well, any kind of celebrations. The main supply is the water, but you can color the water with food coloring and then combine candles in different sizes, and even arrange the bowl with sand, gravel, gemstones, potpourri, flower petals...
When you get experienced in making your tealight candles, you may consider making even the big floating candles and float them in your pond or in the swimming pool. It will be perfect for your parties, and, which is most important, it will be unique.
